Preparation Time

I am really excited about this blog and the potential, if for no one else, for me.
I've started the program myself now so that I can be ahead of the game and have the posts ready to go.  The Project 345 plan from YouVersion is interesting in the way they have set it up. So I'm adapting it to fit my goal, which is to read a chapter of scripture every day.  So even though the first is a Sunday and weekends are designed for "catch up" days, I'm going to start us on John 1.

I was really excited to see they started with the book of John. When I mapped out the plan on my own I started with John.  It will be interesting to see how they put the rest of the plan together.  On the "free reading" days I'll post a link to a Psalm or a chapter from Proverbs.  Both of these Old Testament books have so much to offer. In a Sunday School class a few months ago we were asked if we were on a deserted island and could have only one book of the Bible which book would it be, for me without hesitation it would be the book of Psalms.

Great stuff there!
Be blessed!

360 using 345

On the iPad and Android there is a great “app” called the YouVersion Bible. I’ve been using one of their reading plans for about 135 days and love it. The other day I was looking at their other plans and noticed one called Project 345. Their idea, similar to mine, is to read one chapter per day, however they are looking at just the New Testament and reading during the week, with the weekends for “catch up.”

So being the geek I am, I thought it would be useful to utilize this plan.  Point to their website as a great resource. Also, if you do use the iPhone, iPad, or an Android phone you can keep up with your readings electronically.

So check out www.youversion.com

You can create an account for free.  Choose your favorite version and under the section called “Bible” you can choose a plan.

Blessings!

Preparing for Bible 360

Bible 360 is an adventure in reading the Bible over the next 366 days. The goal isn't to read the entire Bible in the next 366 days, but to read the Bible every day. It takes time to develop a habit. It is my hope and prayer that through Bible 360 each of us will develop the habit of spending time in God's Word, each and every day.  Looking at how it applies to our lives, not a chore we have to "get through."

Each day there will be a link to the passage so you can read it.  I'll try to provide a little history to the passage or what the passage might mean to me. Feel free to leave a comment sharing what the passage says to you.  You can ask questions as well. I can't promise an answer but there are lots of resources, including Pastor Tim and hopefully some others.

Blessings to you on this journey to learn more about God through His Word.
