From Psalm 19 -
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
8 the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
9 the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
From Psalm 20 -
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
Psalm 19
ReplyDelete1-6 His glory is displayed in His creation ~ so glorious ~ beautiful poetry
7-11 He shares truth with me that keeps me wise and out of trouble
12-14 He is my Guide, my Cleanser, my All
reminds me of the end of Psalm 139 Search me, O God...
All of Psalm 19 is so rich!
Especially love the descriptive verses 1-6 ~*~ and 7-11, and 12-14 ... hmmm... that above covers it! Prescription: to be read daily!
Psalm 20
1-5 Confidence
6-9 Assurance
Absolutely love verse 7, "Some rely on chariots and others on horses, but we will boast in the name of the Lord our God."
For there is indeed Victory in Jesus.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
ReplyDeleteI heard the pastor say this every Sunday before the sermon when I was growing up and I still whisper this prayer to myself often before I speak. I love this prayer.
Wouldn't we all be better off if we would say that prayer before we speak! (or it just me!??!!?)
