People usually focus on Saul's conversion in this passage, but I realized tonight that Peter raises someone from the dead in this chapter!?!?! Who knew?
I'm not sure I realized that.
What are your thoughts on this chapter? (Sorry ladies, I'm incredibly tired tonight)
Blessings all
Peter's miracles too tend to get overshadowed in this chapter, don't they? But how amazing! Healing the lame and restoring life, all within a few verses.
ReplyDeleteWhat jumped out to me about Paul's story this time around was that he IMMEDIATELY began preaching Christ and reasoning with the Jews about His sovereignty. Which shows me that he'd been listening to all those people he'd persecuted. He'd heard Stephen's sermon. He knew all the facts. For me, that's encouragement! We never know when our words and actions might affect an enemy and help in the winning of his soul. And we never know when said enemy might turn out to be our greatest ally.
On another note, are any of you acquainted with Sandi Rog and her struggle with cancer? I know word about her has gotten out to a lot of different groups, as she was diagnosed the day her debut book released. If so, she'd been told she was in remission a couple months ago, but now they've found two new spots. She's undergoing radiation again. A bunch of us are dedicating this week to fasting and praying for her and her family (she has four children, from toddler to teen). If anyone feels led to join, she can use all the prayer-warriors she can get.
I don't know Sandi, but I'll definitely be praying for her and her family.

ReplyDelete15-16 The Lord told Ananias, “Go! I’ve chosen this man to bring my name to nations, to kings, and to the people of Israel. I’ll show him how much he has to suffer for the sake of my name.”
Wow! What a beautiful story. We each could tell how the Holy Spirit called us!! We are chosen to bring the Lord's Name where He places us!
verse 11: To the exact street address!! He will direct us in joining Him in what He is already doing.
34 Peter said to him, “Aeneas,
Jesus Christ makes you well.
Get up, and pick up your cot. Aeneas immediately got up.
40 Peter made everyone leave the room.
He knelt and prayed.
Then he turned toward the body and said, “Tabitha, get up!”Tabitha opened her eyes, saw Peter, and sat up.
Jesus Christ makes you well.
He knelt and prayed.
