Day 155, June 4 - 2 Corinthians 3

5-6 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

"our sufficiency is from God"
Sufficiency from Strong's - to make sufficient, render fit, to equip one with adequate power to perform duties of one.

  1. I really like the verses you pointed out, Holly. I guess this passage could stir up a lot of controversy depending on how we interpreted it.

  2. 2 Corinthians 3
5 By ourselves we are not qualified in any way to claim that we can do anything. Rather, God makes us qualified.

16-18 But whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. This Lord is the Spirit. Wherever the Lord’s Spirit is, there is freedom. As all of us reflect the Lord’s glory with faces that are not covered with veils, we are being changed into his image with ever-increasing glory. This comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
