Day 239 - August 27 - Colossians 1

3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven.

Who are you thanking God for today?

9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

Who are you praying for today?

Take time to do that...

  1. I thank God today for Sarah Grimke. (look her up) :-)

I'm praying for wisdom for our leaders as they try to figure out what to do or not do in the middle east.

I praying for those that are fighting the fires here in California - that they will be safe and that they will get the fires under control before more damage is done.

  2. Colossians 1
What God Has Done Through Christ
13-14 God has rescued us from the power of darkness and has brought us into the kingdom of his Son, whom he loves. His Son paid the price to free us, which means that our sins are forgiven.

19 God was pleased to have all of himself live in Christ. 20 God was also pleased to bring everything on earth and in heaven back to himself through Christ. He did this by making peace through Christ’s blood sacrificed on the cross.
21 Once you were separated from God. The evil things you did showed your hostile attitude. 22 But now Christ has brought you back to God by dying in his physical body. He did this so that you could come into God’s presence without sin, fault, or blame. 23a This is on the condition that you continue in faith without being moved from the solid foundation of the hope that the Good News contains.
