Day 345, December 11 - Revelation 9

20 The rest of humanity, those not killed by these plagues, did not rethink their course and turn away from the devices of their own making. Despite all these calamities, they continued worshiping demons and idols crafted in gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood. They bowed down to images which cannot see or hear or walk. 21 They failed to turn away from their murders, their sorceries, their sexual immoralities, and their thefts.

You read the first 19 verses of this chapter and all the horrible things that happen then you read the last two andI think, "HOW? How can someone's heart be so hard?" Then I pray, "Lord, may my heart never be so hard that I don't turn to you."

  1. Reminds me of some of the things that happened to Egypt when Moses wanted to let his people go and Pharaoh would let them.

  2. Revelation 9
11 The king who ruled them was the angel from the bottomless pit. In Hebrew he is called Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.

20 The people who survived these plagues still did not turn to me and change the way they were thinking and acting. If they had, they would have stopped worshiping demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see, hear, or walk. 21 They did not turn away from committing murder, practicing witchcraft, sinning sexually, or stealing.
