Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? 6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! (5b-6)
What glorious words! How many times do I look for God and His work in the wrong places?
Now that I've read all four gospels I really like the way Luke told the Lord's story. Though, I find it a little interesting that Luke wrote both Luke and Acts which were both written to Theophilus, and he tells the ascension in both books.
I'm looking forward to reading Acts and the birth of the church.
Blessings

ReplyDelete8 Then the women remembered what Jesus had told them.
9 The women left the tomb and went back to the city. They told everything to the eleven apostles and all the others.
10 The women were Mary from Magdala, Joanna, and Mary (the mother of James). There were also other women with them. They told the apostles everything.
Luke 8:1-3
After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; Joanna the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod's household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.
How awesome is this! Joanna, the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod's household ~*~ The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases... Mary Magdalene, Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.

Thinking of Joanna being in Herod's court, I looked for the prior mention of her and found this blog.
Jesus heals and touches each one. He came to seek and save the lost.

I really like Luke's style, too. Very rich!
