April 6, Day 97 - Luke 12

Click here to go to Luke 12

The thing that jumped out to me at this point in my life were verses 25 - 28:
25 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? 26 And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?
27 “Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 28 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

I need to take things one day at a time and trust God to take of things.

How about your guys?

And in honor of Good Friday a song that I love it, I'll admit... may not be the most theologically sound words, but the ultimate message is there. Jesus Christ was crucified on a Friday but Sunday came and He rose victorious!

  1. I hope everyone has a wonderful Good Friday! I remember as a teen wondering why we called it "Good." It always seemed weird to me--I knew it was Good that Jesus died for us, but it was a BAD day for Him. Still, the day has always been one of reflection for me.

This year, though, I'll be at the zoo with my kids and nieces and sister and parents. Not exactly a time of quiet reflection, but certainly one that will make me appreciate all I have because of Him.

If I don't find time to comment the rest of the weekend, I hope everyone has a very blessed Easter!!

    1. Well, the zoo sounds better than what I am doing today...working. :-)

We had a nice Maunday Thursday service last night at church. No foot washing, but a nice service with communion.

  2. I found this passage very interesting:
"8 “I tell you the truth, everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, the Son of Man[c] will also acknowledge in the presence of God’s angels. 9 But anyone who denies me here on earth will be denied before God’s angels. 10 Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

11 “And when you are brought to trial in the synagogues and before rulers and authorities, don’t worry about how to defend yourself or what to say, 12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what needs to be said.”"

So often what we think is our good sense or our intuition, is really the Holy Spirit speaking to us.

  3. Luke 12
2,3 Nothing has been covered that will not be exposed. Whatever is secret will be made known. Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight. Whatever you have whispered in private rooms will be shouted from the housetops.

Lamentations 2:14 Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.

my paraphrase, It is necessary for my:your inequity to be exposed to release me:you from captivity.

Psalm 139:23,24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

    It's Friday... but Sunday's coming!!

    It is Finished!!!
