3 Don’t put your confidence in powerful people;
there is no help for you there.
4 When they breathe their last, they return to the earth,
and all their plans die with them.
That is so true and when I think about this election year this is a good reminder. Thankfully the following verses remind us of who is really in charge:
5 But joyful are those who have the God of Israel[a] as their helper,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.
6 He made heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them.
He keeps every promise forever.
7 He gives justice to the oppressed
and food to the hungry.
The Lord frees the prisoners
Yes. Powerful people are often the LAST people we should put our confidence in.

ReplyDelete1-2 Hallelujah! Praise the Lord, my soul! I want to praise the Lord throughout my life. I want to make music to praise my God as long as I live.
9a The Lord protects foreigners.
Thankful for this. My maternal grandmother came from Norway with her parents and siblings when she was 16. She met and married my German grandfather. He died before I was born. My mother married my 100% Irish father. My husband is half-French and half-Belgium, saying he is all-American. Thankful foremost we belong to the Lord!
My favorite: Psalm 119:111 Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.
10 The Lord rules as king forever. Zion, your God rules throughout every generation. Hallelujah!
