Oct. 15, Day 289 - Hebrews 9

Click here to go to Hebrews 9

This chapter gives such beautiful imagery of what Jesus did for us with His death and resurrection. And the author of Hebrews sums it up so well in the last verse:
27 And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, 28 so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.

What a great way to start a Monday!

  1. We studied this section in a Bible study we're doing at church, and it made me look at things in a whole new way--that this testament is a will, and so if we are to inherit, first He must die. What an awesome Lord.

  2. This chapter means so much more to me right now because I am also reading Exodus and Leviticus rather intensely. So, I have an image of the tabernacle and covenant of the Old Testament as a vivid image. This makes Hebrews far more powerful. I never really "got it" before. (I probably still don't, but I'm closer)

  3. Hebrews 9
15 Because Christ offered himself to God, he is able to bring a new promise from God. Through his death he paid the price to set people free from the sins they committed under the first promise. He did this so that those who are called can be guaranteed an inheritance that will last forever.
