Day 128, May 8 - Acts 12

James is murdered and Peter is arrested. He is freed by an angel and he goes to the house of Mary.

11 When Peter came to himself, he said, "Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting."
12 When he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose other name was Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying.

I wonder what they were praying about? You would think they would have been praying for Peter and he shows up the door.  I love the fact that Rhoda recognized Peter's voice but does she let him in? No she runs and tells everyone leaving Peter standing at the door.

  1. Acts 12
5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was praying very hard to God for him.

16-17a But Peter kept knocking. When they opened the door, they were shocked to see him. Peter motioned with his hand to quiet them down and told them how the Lord had taken him out of prison.

Do we expect our prayers to be answered??
