So much good stuff in this book, yes, I know I've said that before, but I think today these two verses jump out at me:
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Tell God your need + Thank Him for what He's done = PEACE
Very nice!
This week's sermon at my church came from this chapter. =) And it was a great one! About finding contentment wherever you are, just as Paul does here.
ReplyDelete"12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. 13 For I can do everything through Christ,[c] who gives me strength. 14 Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty."
ReplyDeleteWe can not only learn from Paul about finding contentment, but also learn from the Philippians and make sure we are supporting our ministers and missionaries that are working full time to bring the Good News to everyone.
Philippians 4:
ReplyDelete2-3 I encourage both Euodia and Syntyche to have the attitude the Lord wants them to have. Yes, I also ask you, Syzugus [yoke-fellow], my true partner, to help these women. They fought beside me to spread the Good News along with Clement and the rest of my coworkers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
Euodia [good journey, name] and Syntyche [fortunate, name]. Two more women missionaries ~*~ along with the woman at the well, Mary and Martha, the widow who gave her last coins, Lydia, the other Mary ~ Mary of Magdala, the woman with the issue of blood, and others who know who they are, touched by Jesus ~*~ spread His Words and could not be contained, names specifically mentioned and those others whose names too are written down in the Lamb's Book of Life! WooHoo for changed lives and hearts!
13 I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.
19 My God will richly fill your every need in a glorious way through Christ Jesus.
22 All God’s people here, especially those in the emperor’s palace, greet you.
God's people, for His glory.
