I love how Paul opens his letters:
3) May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. 4) Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live. 5) All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
Of course, so far Paul's letters haven't been "you guys are doing so good!" they've been turning away from the Gospel.
Makes me wonder what Paul would write to the churches in America today?

"6 I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ.[c] You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News 7 but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ."
ReplyDeleteNote though that he is especially harsh with those that are twisting the truth, but he is more gentle with those that are listening to them.
What would he say to us today? He might be a bit more harsh. "You know better!"
Galatians 1
ReplyDelete1 From Paul—an apostle chosen not by any group or individual but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who brought him back to life—
I chose you!!
11-12 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the Good News I have spread is not a human message. I didn’t receive it from any person. I wasn’t taught it, but Jesus Christ revealed it to me.
Inspired Word of God not revealed by man but by Jesus Christ to man's heart.
