Oct. 19, Day 293 - Hebrews 13

20 Now may the God of peace—
who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus,
the great Shepherd of the sheep,
and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—
21 may he equip you with all you need
    for doing his will.
May he produce in you,[e]
through the power of Jesus Christ,
every good thing that is pleasing to him.
All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.

Only one of the things that jumped out at me.

  1. "8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them."

Love it! How many rules about food do we have these days? Gluten-free, lactose intolerant, low fat, etc, etc, etc. It is sometimes like we are trying to eat our way to spiritual purity.

Now, granted, I try to eat a healthy, balanced diet. I do feel better when I am eating that way. But, it is what I am "eating" spiritually that matters so much more. What am I putting in my body, mind and spirit? If it isn't Jesus and His grace, it isn't going to make me healthy.
