Oct 29, Day 303 - 1 Peter 1

There is a lot of good stuff in this chapter, words of encouragement as Peter reminds us of what Jesus did for us. As well there are strong words about how we should life a holy life as God is holy.

I think this is my favorite verse today at least:
It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.

So thankful for that great mercy!

1a ...To God’s chosen people who are temporary residents in the world

    Yes! I love this!!

2 God the Father knew you long ago and chose you to live holy lives with the Spirit’s help so that you are obedient to Jesus Christ and are sprinkled with his blood. May good will and peace fill your lives!

18-19 Realize that you weren’t set free from the worthless life handed down to you from your ancestors by a payment of silver or gold which can be destroyed. Rather, the payment that freed you was the precious blood of Christ, the lamb with no defects or imperfections.
