August 14, Day 227 - Ephesians 1

Click here to go to Ephesians 1

I love Ephesians and especially chapter 1. As we look at some of the things Paul writes it's so exciting:

  • May God give you grace and peace
  • Praise to God who has given every spiritual blessings
  • The God that created the universe loves us and chose us
  • He decided to adopt us!!!
  • He is rich in kindness
  • He purchased our freedom
From there Paul goes on to tell how he prays for the people in Ephesus. What a wonderful prayer!

Blessings,

  1. "21 Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. 22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. 23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself."

For me, this is a very good reminder as I watch everything that is going on with the elections. Ultimately, it is Christ who is in charge, not the people we elect for government office.

  2. Ephesians 1
4 Before the creation of the world, he chose us through Christ to be holy and perfect in his presence.

7 Through the blood of his Son, we are set free from our sins. God forgives our failures because of his overflowing kindness.

13 You heard and believed the message of truth, the Good News that he has saved you. In him you were sealed with the Holy Spirit whom he promised.

17-20 I pray that the glorious Father, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know Christ better. Then you will have deeper insight. You will know the confidence that he calls you to have and the glorious wealth that God’s people will inherit. You will also know the unlimited greatness of his power as it works with might and strength for us, the believers. He worked with that same power in Christ when he brought him back to life and gave him the highest position in heaven.
