Sept. 11, Day 255 - 2 Thessalonians 2

Click here to go to 2 Thessalonians 2

This is an interesting chapter, Paul warns them not to be easily shaken by things others are saying in regards to the Lord's return. And then he reminds them that he thanks God for their faithfulness.

I don't really remember reading this passage before, how many times have we said that this year. Sometimes I feel like the first half of the passage has come true, in that there is a great rebellion against God. But I'm not sure the "man of lawlessness" has bee revealed.
3 Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness[b] is revealed—the one who brings destruction.[c] 4 He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.
I know some might argue with me and that's okay. I try hard to focus on the common ground between the different churches and on issues that don't have a bearing on my salvation it's not worth fighting about. I believe we should always be prepared for the returning at all times.

Have a blessed day!

I'm sure you all will take a moment to remember and pray for those affected by Sept. 11, 2001.
Earlier in 2001 the Lord gave Tommy Walker this song. It was a good reminder then as it is today.

  1. Yes. A very curious chapter. I imagine there are a lot of people that interpret it many different ways.

  2. 2 Thessalonians 2
    1-12
10 He (the man of lawlessness) will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.

15 With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter.
