The importance of scripture:
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

  1. And wow, that list at the start of the chapter! I know well it describes mankind forever, but society as a whole today seems to embrace all those ungodly qualities, doesn't it?

  2. Roseanna,
I thought the same thing, but then again, there are also so many examples I come across of loving, giving people. It gives me hope. Sometimes, it is difficult not to get caught up in the ways that society seems to be. But, once you get "one on one" with most people, they are usually decent.

    1. Indeed they do, Sharon. I was thinking more of trends, I think. That it's almost fashionable now to be those bad things, which is really sad. But yes, individuals are usually decent folks!

  3. 2 Timothy 3
14-17 However, continue in what you have learned and found to be true. You know who your teachers were. From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures. They have the power to give you wisdom so that you can be saved through faith in Christ Jesus. Every Scripture passage is inspired by God. All of them are useful for teaching, pointing out errors, correcting people, and training them for a life that has God’s approval. They equip God’s servants so that they are completely prepared to do good things.
