Sept. 27, Day 271 - Titus 1

Click here to go to Titus 1

Paul instructs Titus on the importance of the elders living godly lives. I like the part about hospitality.

  1. "15 Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted. 16 Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good."

And, thank God when I stray and my heart becomes impure, I can look to Christ for forgiveness and turn my life back around. :-)

  2. Titus 1
2-3 My message is based on the confidence of eternal life. God, who never lies, promised this eternal life before the world began. God has revealed this in every era by spreading his word. I was entrusted with this word by the command of God our Savior.

Guidelines for Leaders in the Church
8-9 Instead, he must be hospitable, love what is good, use good judgment, be fair and moral, and have self-control. He must be devoted to the trustworthy message we teach. Then he can use these accurate teachings to encourage people and correct those who oppose the word.

Correct Whoever Teaches What Is Wrong
11a They must be silenced because they are ruining whole families by teaching what they shouldn’t teach.

15-16a Everything is clean to those who are clean. But nothing is clean to corrupt unbelievers. Indeed, their minds and their consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but they deny him by what they do.
