Oct 27, Day 301 - Psalm 20

Click here to go to Psalm 20

What a great prayer for a leader!!! I love the focus of this prayer I've heard this verse many times
Some nations boast of their chariots and horses,
but we boast in the name of the Lord our God.

But reading it in context of the entire Psalm makes it more significant.

God is Good!

  1. Psalm 20
Too totally awesome. Replace "you" with "me" and notice how most every line says "He will." I especially like verses 1 and 2. It is His Name that will protect us. I know this is true. Call out His Name in the midst of trouble.

One snowy night we were coming back from our daughter's ballgame out of town. A woman had asked to ride back with us as she had ridden the school bus there and they were stopping to eat on the way home. Coming around a corner after a town, our van hit an icy spot under the snow and we went across the other lane and over the embankment. Going down I called out "Jesus, help us." Beneath was a cut cornfield. My husband drove across the length of it and it was so silent you could hear the air. He came up the embankment unto the road and continued on our way. Quietly the woman said, "Nice job, Matt." The rest of the story: Ahead of us in the lane coming toward us was a snowplow going slow, barely able to see their yellowed headlights through the blowing snow. Behind it was a string of cars, about seven or so. Coming up the embankment onto the road there was no vision except the Lord's.
