April 16, Day 107 - Luke 18

Click here to go to Luke 18

This is such a rich chapter. I love the widow and the judge as a reminder that we should never give up on our prayers.

I also like the rich man.  It is so easy to trust in money and let it control our lives, yet in light of eternity today's riches mean so little. But the beauty is that with God all things are possible.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Definitely lots of examples in this chapter of people being persistent! We see it with the blind man at the end too--they tried to hush him up, but he just cried out the louder.

I need to remember that. When the world tries to tell us to be quiet, that's just our cue to cry out even more to the Lord.

  2. Luke 18
41 “What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man said, “Lord, I want to see again.”

    Mark 5
23 He begged Jesus, “My little daughter is dying. Come, lay your hands on her so that she may get well and live.”

27-28 Since she had heard about Jesus, she came from behind in the crowd and touched his clothes. She said, “If I can just touch his clothes, I’ll get well.”

Being specific, we know He has healed us. What we ask in prayer, we acknowledge only He can do it. When the answer comes we know He has done it!

  3. It is a good day to have a story about the tax collector because I'm not feeling very loving toward the IRS since I had to send a check to them today. I guess I'm feeling a little "holier than thou", like the Pharisee.
