June 28, Day 130 - 1 Corinthians 3

Click here to go to 1 Corinthians 3

This week our church is holding VBS and these verses really speak to me:
It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.

That's our prayer that we simply plant and water the seeds and hold on to the truth that God will cause those seeds to grow.

  1. I do love those parts--also love where it talks about our works being tested by fire. WE will be saved, no matter what. But what we've done in our lives will either burn away or be left shining and pure through the fire of His judgment.

This always leaves me with the prayer that He help me build my life with the pure, solid things that will withstand that holy blaze.

  2. 1 Corinthians 3
17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him because God’s temple is holy. You are that holy temple!

21-23 So don’t brag about people. Everything belongs to you. Whether it is Paul, Apollos, Cephas, the world, life or death, present or future things, everything belongs to you. You belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.

The richness of His grace, His glory! Through Jesus Christ, He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness.

    2 Peter 1 (NIV)
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

    New Living Translation
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
