Day 46 - Matthew 15

Click here to access Matthew 15

This chapter also gives us the opportunity to examine our hearts. The Pharisee's liked to look good and maintain their traditions, but yet their hearts were far from God. This past week my Pastor preached on this very idea.  Basically, do we "play" Christian, but fail to have a real relationship with Jesus?

But I love the story of the Gentile woman who refuses to settle. Even though Jesus is sent to the Jews, she believes He can help her as well.  Again, faith in action bringing healing.

What do you hear from the Holy Spirit today?

3 comments:

  1. Matthew 15
12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you realize that when the Pharisees heard your statement they were offended?”

Being overly cautious in what is said, or silent, because it might offend what is within which is far distant from God's Word?

Reveal areas in my life of self-deception.

    Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

    Matthew 15
28a Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, you have strong faith!
Lord, may I continue to come to You and press in for needs only You can do.

  2. I am out of town in business meetings this week. There were a few times during the meetings when I felt the Holy Spirit talking to me today. When I was feeling negative about something someone was saying, my words were kept in check. I feel led to exercise more patience than I have in the past.
