Day 62 - Mark 3

Click here to go to Mark 3:1

I think my favorite part of this chapter is the last verse: "Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” To think that one of the benefits of doing God's will is that Jesus considers me family! What a great idea!

I also found a cool website that has links to artwork relating to Biblical text.  Here's one from Mark 3:

  1. I used to think of myself as Jesus' daughter, then his sister. Now, I'm thinking I'm probably his mother. I can really feel motherly pain when I read about how he was tortured and crucified.

  2. Mark 3
7 Jesus left with his disciples for the Sea of Galilee.
A large crowd followed him because they had heard about everything he was doing.

10-12 He had cured so many that everyone with a disease rushed up to him in order to touch him. Whenever people with evil spirits saw him, they would fall down in front of him and shout, “You are the Son of God!” He gave them orders not to tell people who he was.

13-15 Jesus went up a mountain, called those whom he wanted, and they came to him. He appointed twelve whom he called apostles. They were to accompany him and to be sent out by him to spread the Good News. They also had the authority to force demons out of people.

I love Jesus' preparation for them in John 14-17, especially, John 17:20 "I'm not praying only for them. I'm also praying for those who will believe in me through their message."

That's also us, and those to come!
