Day 30, January 30 - Galatians 1

Click here to go to today's reading

Alas, one would think for $185 a night that would include WiFI, however, that is not the case. It can be yours for $12.95 more a night... so I'm tethering off my phone, which is now going very slow... so I will be brief... feel free to continuing sharing your great comments. I don't always comment back but I do read them and am blessed and encouraged by them.

Paul as in many of his letters wish the audience grace and peace.

I love the note (ESV Study Bible) that Galatians 1 refers back to in Romans 1:7:
Peace is not just the absence of conflict but echoes the Old Testament concept of shalom, where a person's life with God and with everything else is in ordered harmony, both physically and spiritually, and "all is well."

Grace is God's unmerited favor. We don't deserve it and we can't earn it, it just is.

May you remember God's grace in your life and experience His peace to it's fullest.

  1. Galatians 1
    Greeting
1 From Paul—an apostle chosen not by any group or individual but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who brought him back to life—

I am so thankful I was chosen to be brought back to life ~ Rev. 3:15-16, I heard for the first time and came to the Lord. I am thankful for the Holy Spirit drawing me near, and an ear to hear.

15 “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

    To the Church in Laodicea
14 “And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation.

15 “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. 17 For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. 19 Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. 21 The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

    Galatians 1
4-5 In order to free us from this present evil world, Christ took the punishment for our sins, because that was what our God and Father wanted. Glory belongs to our God and Father forever! Amen.

Follow the Good News We Gave You, 6-10
When someone comes to Christ, are we quick to point out their vices to change them? Like giving someone a picture puzzle and telling them they have twenty minutes ~ before they are even able to sort the colors out, and separate out the pieces with edges!
Jesus Christ gives us His love, His hope, His peace, His endurance ~ His grace! ~ for "such were some of you."

Jesus Alone Gave Paul the Good News He Spreads, 11-24
11 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the Good News I have spread is not a human message.
12 I didn’t receive it from any person. I wasn’t taught it, but Jesus Christ revealed it to me.

Truth, not sifted down nor decifered by man. I read my son's Living New Testament. "Given to me by Mom, Oct. 19, 1973.” I received Christ on October 28, 1973. For Christmas 2010, I sent my son his Bible. He died June 3, 2011. Underlinings in green ink of the first time I read these words and written inside "I love You, Jesus." God's plan, God's wonderful plan. I enclosed a letter. Precious, precious promises in here and my love to him.

In my 40th year of following Christ, I am so thankful for His love for me. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, I trust Him with all of my heart. I want to share a song written and sung by my friend, Tilly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PIBh_TnSqo James 1:17+

Psalm 139:17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

This song has ministered to me so much.
    Keep holding to His hand.

    Galatians 1
15-16 But God, who appointed me before I was born and who called me by his kindness, was pleased to show me his Son. He did this so that I would tell people who are not Jewish that his Son is the Good News. When this happened, I didn’t talk it over with any other person.

Paul went without influence of others, speaking out of his own heart about being with Jesus.

23 The only thing they had heard was this: “The man who persecuted us is now spreading the faith that he once tried to destroy.” 24 So they praised God for what had happened to me.
