Day 7, January 7 - John 5

Click here to go to today's reading

The fascinating story of Jesus healing the man by the Sheep Gate pool on the Sabbath. Which, of course, leads the Jewish Religious leaders to want to kill Jesus.

What can we learn about the nature of God throughout chapter 5?  Or anything else you'd like to share about this passage.

  1. John 5
There is no time, there is no place, that Jesus will not heal. Receive your healing. It was finished at the Cross. He has done it.

6b "Do you want to be healed?"

39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

43 I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him. 44 How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

  2. I love the way this passage so clearly states Jesus's deity, and His complete obedience. I also love how he did His Father's will no matter what others thought. I want to live a life of obedience like that!
