Day 24 - Psalm 9

Click here to read today's passage

This Psalm starts out expressing great joy and praise to the Lord for what He's done. It moves on to speak of God as a fair and righteous judge. And what will happen to those who continue to be an enemy to God.

For today, think about the first 2 verses: I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart;
I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.2 I will be filled with joy because of you.
I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.

Share some of the marvelous things God has done in your life.

  1. The Lord has definitely done marvelous things for me! He placed me in a loving family that brought me up in His ways. He gave me a husband who's the other half of my soul. He's blessed us with two precious, beautiful children who bring laughter and light into our lives, and the support system to help me still have some time to work by helping out with those precious kiddos once a week. ;-)

    And in the past year, He's led me down the path to the realization of my lifelong dreams of publication; within ten months I received my first major publishing contract for a single title historical romance, and also a three-book deal for a historical romance series with a publisher I've wanted to work with since I was 12.

    But more than anything, He's bathed me in His Spirit and shown me depths that I always knew were there but hadn't experienced for myself until recent years. What an amazing, awesome God we serve!

  2. Marvelous things in my life include a loving, patient husband, two beautiful children that are wonderful young adults now, excellent health, and enough money for shelter and food.

    I've also been blessed over the years with good Christian friends and two women Pastors that have become good friends. Everywhere I've lived, I've found congregations full of loving, Christ-centered people.

    I know there are many more marvelous things in store!

  3. Psalm 9
    1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart;
    I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.

    My husband and I retired two summers ago and moved to be in the middle of our children in three states within a long day's drive. We looked in Missouri, typed in "house on a hilltop" and this one home popped up because that is how the realtor had it listed. My husband came home from work and said all day he was thinking about a light on a hilltop.
    Matt. 5:14-16 Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
    We find our church on the Internet and listen to the sermon. We call the realtor about the hill house. On the first showing of our home we are selling, an offer is given!!
    I Thessalonians 5:24. “The One who called you is faithful, and He will do it.”

    2 I will be filled with joy because of You.
    One of my favorite Scriptures, Psalm 119:111 Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

    I will sing praises to Your Name, O Most High.

  4. God is indeed good! Thanks for sharing! I may not be able to make additional comments this week, as I'm at a conference for work. But the post will be up!
    Blessings all
