July 8, Day 190 - Proverbs 17

Click here to go to Proverbs 17

A couple of the Proverbs that jumped out at me today were verse 1, especially after reading Psalm 84 yesterday.

But then verse 22:
A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

And verse 28:
Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent;
with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.

Lots of words of wisdom... which ones did you enjoy?

  1. Proverbs 17
3 The crucible is for refining silver and the smelter for gold, but the one who purifies hearts by fire is the Lord.

    Jeremiah 6
29 The bellows of the blast furnace blow fiercely to make the fire melt away the lead. It is useless to go on refining because the impurities can't be removed.

    Refiner's Fire lyrics
    Purify my heart
Let me be as gold and precious silver
    Purify my heart
Let me be as gold, pure gold
    Refiner's fire
    My heart's one desire
    Is to be holy
    Set apart for You, Lord
    I choose to be holy
Set apart for You, my Master
    Ready to do Your will
    Purify my heart
    Cleanse me from within
    And make me holy
    Purify my heart
    Cleanse me from my sin
    Deep within

  2. I like 9:
Love prospers when a fualt is forgiven,
but dwelling on it separates close friends.
